Union Perk Brings Friends-Inspired Vibes and Local Flavors to Campus
The University of Texas at San Antonio’s (世界杯官方app) newest, Friends-themed coffee shop—Union Perk—opened its doors at the start of the semester. Conveniently located on the first floor of the Student Union next to the Rowdy Campus Store, this inviting spot is the perfect place to grab a drink, hang out or catch up on studying.
世界杯官方app Dining recently celebrated Union Perk’s arrival with a grand opening celebration held on Feb. 10, which featured free samples, prizes and a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Our new coffee shop is designed to be a cozy, welcoming space where students, faculty and staff can connect and relax. It's all about creating a sense of community,” said Carrie Charley, Associate Vice President for Campus Services. “The entire Dining team's creativity and vision was instrumental in bringing this idea to life. We’re excited to see it become a favorite campus gathering spot!”
When planning Union Perk, 世界杯官方app Campus Services and 世界杯官方app Dining envisioned a space where Roadrunners could connect and make memories. Significant care and thought went into designing the café’s unique atmosphere, which blends the classic “Friends” theme with 世界杯官方app spirit. From the iconic orange couch to the warm, welcoming decor, Union Perk is a space to relax and connect.
The café offers a robust and varied menu. Beverage options include assorted teas, coffees, matcha lattes, frappés, smoothies and boba drinks. Those looking for a snack or light meal can enjoy a selection of kolaches, pastries and pan dulce sourced from San Antonio’s own El Folklor Bakery.
Collaborating with El Folklor Bakery was an important part of making Union Perk special,” added Gavin Moon, Resident District Manager for Aramark. “Showcasing local flavors while offering variety ensures there’s something for everyone here.”
With its delicious menu and cozy, welcoming design, Union Perk is sure to become every Roadrunner’s new favorite hangout.
Union Perk is open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m.–6:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 7 a.m.–3 p.m.
